Famous Author Selects AIP to Provide Aerial Video for Adventure Film Series

New York Times best selling author John Eldredge just completed a new book and film series titled Killing Lions – A Guide Through the Trials Young Men Face. The 17 film series is an invitation into the wild, daring adventure of becoming a man. It is a manifesto for the generation that is rising up and knows not how to begin the lion hunt. The first film, seen below, is filmed in the deserts outside Moab, Utah with epic cinematography and raw conversation on the life men want to live. After filming was complete, author John Eldredge commented “People think we hired a helicopter for our shoot – that is the quality of the images we got from AIP. These guys are fantastic to work with, and they provide stunning aerial footage at a fraction of the cost of traditional means. We will use them every time.”

After viewing the first film below, you will no doubt want to watch the entire series! To view all 17 videos visit KillingLions.com. We recently did an interview regarding Aerial Video & Privacy with ABC 7 in Denver

With a push toward regulations as to where aerial video can be shot, and how we have to obtain permissions, ABC 7 in Denver allowed us to weigh in on the debate over privacy, and about how we deal with the current situations regarding privacy. As the article states…

The team at Aerial Imaging Productions in Aurora has set up its own code of conduct.  Employees ask for permission at locations even though technically they don’t always have to do so. The company maintains a fleet of the small aircraft used in commercial and private video production.  “The burden is on us to maintain it, make sure safety’s first and not violating anyone’s rights,” said business manager Jeffrey Buerger. The company welcomes the potential regulation, wondering why it hasn’t happened sooner. “Regulations are critical, I think,  because there’s companies out there making these real easy to get your hands on,” said photographer Matt Dunn. “We don’t want the public to be afraid of this technology,” said Dunn.

A larger number of people are getting access to these drones and it has definite consequences for privacy when we don’t make sure that we respect each and everybody’s privacy. We currently make sure we have permission from the property owner regardless of the legality of shooting there. However, some people with these new devices, don’t, and I think that is where common sense legislation, like limiting the locations you can shoot without permission, and banning all aerial video on private land without permission, as well as making the owner print their full name, address, and phone number on the drone to help with enforcement to make sure that people’s privacy is respected.

Round 3 for CFI

Last week we had the pleasure of providing more aerial footage for one of our clients, CFI Colorado Fisheries Management. They do outstanding work enhancing rivers to be the perfect habitat for fish, thus creating a much more appealing local for fly fishing. We’ve done work for them on the Elk River and Yampa Tailwaters in Steamboat Springs, CO but this job brought us to the Ohio River in Gunnison. It was a beautiful day for flying our airplane and hexacopter! Sample demo to come! Stay tuned!

We’re going to Jackson Hole, WY

Our latest project will take us to the Jackson Land and Cattle ranch in Jackson Hole, WY. We are absolutely thrilled to have an opportunity to capture such an amazing piece of land!  It is the most phenomenal property in arguably the finest resort town in America, and we cannot wait to document it from the air!  This $175 million ranch recently hit the real estate market and is making a lot of news worth headlines for being known as the most expensive piece of property in America. Needless to say we are very honored to be chosen to showcase it to the world for the owners and their broker, Hall and Hall.
